Breathing while moving in and out of yoga poses or in long held yoga poses helps balance the autonomic nervous system. When we bring our full attention to specific breath practices, separate from movement or held poses, then we practice Pranayama, breath control. Pranayama practices use the breath to move the flow of energy within our bodies. That energy, known as prana in yoga philosophy and chi in Chinese medicine, affects bodily systems like heart & respiratory rate, digestion & sleep along with mental & emotional states. Breath practices help us affect the energetic body therefore balancing the autonomic nervous system.

In this workshop, you will learn simple breath practices that you can incorporate into your yoga practice and/or into your daily life. These practices will help you gain more mental clarity, to better manage stress and maintain emotional balance. This workshop is suitable for all levels.
